The Tubothal Heating Elements-500 are made of a special iron-chromium-aluminium wire called AF-wire
The AF wire has some advantages over the conventional nickel-chrome wire.
The AF-wire has a much longer lifetime and can withstand higher operating temperatures than the nickel-chrome wire.
Another advantage is that the heating elements made of AF-wire can be repaired which is difficult to do with nickel chrome wire.
The most important advantage of the AF-wire is that in inert gas atmospheres with CO NO poisonous "green rot" is formed.
